How to Install

This manual well pump is designed for DIY installation using basic tools. Most customers complete installation in an afternoon. Clear, step-by-step instructions with photos are provided in the full installation manual, and personal installation support is available if needed.

Simple Installation Overview

  1. Measure your static water level in the well (instructions for measuring static water level are found under Product Details – Bradley Well Pumps )
  2. Purchase standard PVC pipe locally (1" and 1/2")
  3. Remove the existing well cap or well seal
  4. Assemble pump sections above ground
  5. Lower the pump into the well in sections and modify or reinstall the well cap (custom well caps are available under Well Hand Pump Kits and Accessories – Bradley Well Pumps )
  6. Test the pump and confirm water flow

No electricity, plumbing license, or specialized tools are required. Two people are recommended for easier installation.

Important Safety Notes

  • Always secure tools and parts with rope during installation
  • Never allow loose components to drop into the well
  • A tie-off point inside the well casing is strongly recommended

Frost-Free Design

This pump is frost-free when installed correctly. A small weep hole allows water to drain after each use, preventing freeze damage in cold climates.
